Nordstrom Opens Its First Manhattan Store

How brilliant!  Nordstrom finally takes on NYC with the right product at the right time for the right customers at the perfect place.  Bloggers have had strong views both pro and con about the Nordstrom's brand  deviating from its traditional approach of entering a market with a full service model eventually followed by a Rack store. Come on folks; smart business decisions generally lead to a good business. Nordstrom is being very smart by entering this important market with their value brand offering.  They are in a very "hot" neighborhood close to hundreds of thousands of people, many of them young.  If that is not  reason enough many of these city dwellers may find themselves, strapped by the economy,  looking for quality and value, with a dash of  Great Service.  Sounds like a great recipe to me; how can they miss?
